The ideal candidate should have around 7 -8 years of experience in evaluation and research projects preferably in international development, microfinance, financial inclusion, digital financial services with a consulting company, donor organizations, or research institution. He/she should have the ability to institutionalize M&E work with project stakeholders on-site and off-site across project interventions.

Job Summary
The incumbent will be required to have excellent documentation, analytical and interpersonal skills; must be able to establish systems for gathering, analysing and evaluating a variety of data and converting them into useable information; learning and knowledge products: Must be able to present this in meaningful oral or written form for varied audiences and provide solid analysis leading to sound decision-making. Excellent team working skills and a high degree of computer literacy are preferred.
 
Detailed Responsibilities:
 
  • As a part of the M&E team, undertake analysis of data sets either alone or in teams to synthesise findings for consumption of both internal and external audience
  • Define and develop research frameworks, indicators, data needs and sources and reporting formats for effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting progress of the work undertaken by the in-house teams of other verticals.
  • Participate in hiring of survey agencies, planning of assignments, training of survey teams and implementation of research assignments including adherence to quality assurance protocols across various geographies.
  • Work with different teams in the organization, within and outside India, with occasional travel to project locations.
  • Develop and manage monitoring frameworks and provide guidance to other team members.
  • Support the Practice Group lead in developing knowledge resources through identifying key issues, lessons learned and best practices in programs and projects undertaken with different clients and in different geographies.
  • Support the Practice Group Lead in identifying sector-specific issues and documentation of policy briefs and research papers
  • Work closely with the Practice Group Leader and the Domain leader in assessing the landscape and identifying and following up on prospective business opportunities.

Qualifications and Competencies:
 
  • Masters in Social Sciences (subjects in the order of precedence being Statistics, Economics and Demography etc.)
  • Thorough understanding of theoretical concepts such as types of evaluation designs, theory based evaluation, results framework etc.
  • Excellent command over statistical data analysis tools such as STATA, SPSS
  • Working knowledge of SAS, R, eviews etc.
  • Knowledge of advanced analysis methods such linear and multivariate regression, ANOVA, data modelling etc.
  • At least 4-5 years of extensive experience in designing and managing large-scale, multi-geography primary data collection exercises entailing evaluations and impact assessments
  • Experience of working with donor organisations such as The World Bank, UNDP, ADB, DFID, The Gates Foundation etc.
  • Experience of developing proposals and concept notes
